RM of Big Arm’s story
The Rural Municipality of Big Arm No. 251 incorporated on December 11, 1911. It lies in southern Saskatchewan near Last Mountain Lake, northwest of Regina.
Within its boundaries are the town of Imperial, where the RM office is located, the village of Liberty and the resort village of Etters Beach. The hamlets of Hendersons Beach and Stalwart are also found here.
The northern end of Last Mountain Lake is protected land. The southwest corner of the Last Mountain Lake Bird Sanctuary and National Wildlife Area reaches into the northeast corner of the RM, and the Stalwart National Wildlife Area lies entirely within it.
